As many of you know, the Covid 19 situation has not improved much since our decision to close the school to keep our staff and families safe from the virus. The local school districts have made the decision to close until further notice and the President of the United States has declared that our social distancing efforts should remain until at least April 30.

So at this time, we have also decided to remain closed for the time being in an effort to keep local infection rates down. Again, we will be monitoring the situation closely. Once Governor Newsom lifts the shelter in place restriction, and many of you will need to return to your regular work schedules at your places of business, rest assured we will do our best to be open for your child care needs. We are hopeful that this will pass soon and we can get back to our new normal.

As I mentioned earlier, everyone’s withdrawals for April tuition have been stopped. With that being said, if any of you find yourselves in a comfortable financial situation and would like to make a donation for April, please let me know. Any help would be appreciated and would help us to get back up and running as soon as possible and help keep us afloat for the time being. Again thank you so much for your emotional and financial support through this hardship.

We will be contacting everyone when we plan to reopen to see what you would like your child’s schedule to be. Because of the disruption this school year, we will likely run our academic program through summer to make sure children can catch up on the things they missed.

I will continue to look for learning resources for you and keep connected with you to the best of my ability. Again, thank you so much for your support and understanding through this tumultuous time. We pray that you and your families stay safe and well.

Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.”

Our Philosophy & Goals

Upward Bound Preschool ministers to each child as a whole person.  We provide a developmentally appropriate environment in which each child can grow physically, intellectually, emotionally, socially and spiritually at his/her own pace.  Each child is a unique gift from God and we strive to provide a safe and nurturing place where he/she can develop a positive self-image and explore and discover, building their skills to lead a fulfilled and happy life.

We believe our job is to provide the opportunity for children to learn about themselves and the world around us through Bible stories, art, science, dramatic play, literature, music, and social interaction with peers.  We feel it is necessary to challenge the mind, spirit, and body to develop a well-rounded person.

Our teachers do a wonderful job at preparing children for kindergarten.  Through the use of story time, exploring numbers, letters, and phonetic sounds, your children will be more than ready to move on to the next educational level.

We believe the Bible is the Word of God.  By following its principles, we can live a life of fulfillment with a relationship with the Heavenly Father, His Son, and the Holy Spirit, which in turn influences our relationships with others.  Therefore, we feel it is our obligation to teach truths found in the Bible and the love of our Savior, Jesus Christ, through stories, music, and example.

We believe that Jesus is the only begotten Son of God; that He died on the cross for our sins, and rose again, conquering death and sin; and that He will come again.  (John 3:16; Romans 5:8; Romans 6:6-11; 22-23; I Thessalonians 4:14-17)

Meet our Staff

At Upward Bound Preschool, we have been blessed with a wonderful group of loving experienced teachers. We also have a very low turnover rate, some of our teachers have been with us for over 16 years! At Upward Bound, our teachers will care deeply for your child and work with them as individuals to meet their needs.

Children will be accepted for enrollment who are between the ages of 2 years and 5 years old, provided the preschool can meet the needs of the child. Your child must be fully potty trained upon enrollment. We provide options from 2 half days, through 5 full days.
