I have worked in early childhood education since 1996. Shortly after getting married, my husband and I began our foster care journey and opened our home as a licensed daycare. After going back to school and receiving my site supervisor permit, I opened a center based program, “Jesus Loves Me Preschool”, where I was the director for many years. My husband John and I have worked in children’s ministry for many years. We have four children ages 13 – 23, live in Lompoc and own a coffee shop which my husband manages. I love to bake and I especially love tea!

I have always loved working with numbers and being organized. Working as the Administrative Assistant at the preschool has full-filled this need. I also love to sing and knit and can be found doing both in my free time

I enjoy being an early childhood educator at Upward Bound. For the past few years I have taught pre-kindergarten skills to four and five year old children. It is a privilege to teach young children in a Christian based learning environment.

I’m the youngest in my family and I lived in Santa Barbara for 25 years before moving here in 2003. I have one son in college. I love working with our little angels at preschool and have been teaching here for over 14 years!

  I was born and raised in Santa Maria, CA. I’ve worked with kids for over 5 years now. I went back to school recently to follow my passion to work with preschool age children. I have an almost 5 year old  and a new baby born in December 2021 who keep me busy on…

I have a passion for what I do with children and I hope what I do with them makes an important impact on their lives. I have been subbing at Upward Bound for the last few years.

I have been working with children for over 10 years. I love that I get to take what I learn as a teacher and use it with my two grandsons. In my spare time, I love to sew and bake.

In 1962, I became a Christian and a pastor’s wife. God gave me a special gift in my ministry – to work with children. I started as a teacher’s aide and then was a center director for 26 years. I have been at Upward Bound since 2011 and love working with the children, parents, and staff. It has been such a blessing to work here.

I have worked here at Upward Bound preschool for about 10 years and I absolutely love it! Working with children is what truly makes me happy.

I began working with children in 2012 with my very first position as a substitute starting out right here at Upward Bound. Since then I have furthered my education in child development, taught children from infancy through transitional kindergarten. In 2017 I had my Daughter and have had the blessing to be a stay at home mom while also completing my child development education. With my daughter approaching preschool age I have now returned to substituting and I couldn’t imagine a better place then that of which has brought me full circle; right here at Upward Bound Preschool.
